Teaching Rules, Routines, and Procedures
We have to stop assuming that students enter the classroom knowing how to behave properly. Let's face it: children come from a wide variety of background experiences, expectations, and standards. We only set ourselves up for disappointment and frustration when we assume they know what to do or how to behave in any given circumstance. Taking time to teach what is expected in a real and meaningful way is an INVESTMENT in our students' success and leads to less stress on everyone's part.
Our Teach-To's book is filled with 100 ready-to-use lesson plans for both elementary and secondary teachers to help teach the rules, routines, and procedures they need most. Also includes a template for customized Teach-To lesson plans!
In my training, teachers will:
*Learn how rules and routines give students a feeling of security.
*Understand HOW rules and routines should be taught.
*Learn how to identify areas of need and then effectively teach the associated expectations.
